de Charlus, this “are not afraid of cabinet resonance per se” is complicated subject. I have raised the topic in the “How to USE “Resonating Oops” in loudspeakers” thread:

But what makes me more Cessaro biased is Cessaro's potential adjustability or it is tailorable to ones needs, where in case of Vox you have to listen to it "as it is" forever...

hehe following your advice loading the Vitavox into small horn... you'll slowly get like the Vox Olympian :)Now some compromises for the usual domestic customer, and you can understand how Kevin got his concept in the first place ...
Due to this thread, I called the friend upon whose boat I heard the Vox Olympian in order to find out precisely which DCS DAC he was using with his TLOX to get the sound that I found so remarkable. It turns out that whilst th...

It was very interesting event last night. Amy and I were visiting Living Voice Company. We did some listening and Kevin, the company owner, who very devoted to chamber mystic, played his favorite selections of Beethoven quarters. Amy mostly did n...

I would start with the freq from 60 hz to 10 khz. If you already decided to use the Vitavox S2 and AK-151 get those and start using them in that range, it will take a long time to get them perfectly settled. Will you use the AK-151 inside a b...

Just to share with you with my ideas about the Scepter 500 clones. I´m not sure if I will use the w3801 bass drivers. I felt in love with Altec 416 and quite frankly I very much doubt that Onkyo would sound better or equally good. It surely doesn´t s...

It looks like me will be coming to London end of August begin of September. We have B4, B7, and B8 at Proms and whole range of other stimulations coming. I wonder what if any interesting audio experiences I might expect from London? For instance I wo...
As for Hi-Fi, a few recommendations would be; Walrus Audio, Riverside Hi-Fi, The Listening Rooms, Audio Lounge and Classic Hi-Fi in Finsbury Park for all things valve, horn and analogue.
Hm, I have absolutely no inter...
Amir, I think there are still "acceptable" "commercial" components (including speakers) still "out there", depending on how they are used; it's just a matter of finding and getting ahold of them. In any case, building up an integ...

Well, there's "Mozart", and then there's Mozart...Leopold Emmer conducts the Vienna Pro Musica Orchestra; Vox PL 8870, 1954Rudolf Jettel plays the clarinet for the A Major Concerto. He has all the skill and control to get every note in every re...

de Charlus, thank you very much for the wonderful narrative. For sure an exposure to a good audio installation and witnessing what it can do to sound able to redefine our believes in functional meaning of a playback. I think we all who mingling with...

Looking at Vox as a glorified 2-way Altec speaker with tweeter and supertwiter with all " not optimal" choices ,folded 70's PA thunderbolt mid bass cab time misaligned crap ( Romy's opinion ) bi-radial Vitavox midrange suitable for derby races and d...

I would like to point out that copying or not copying Macondo is kind of irrelevant. With proper assessment techniques any person who experiment with horn-loaded multi-channel pile of the horns would end up with the very same configuration – noth...

Hi Romy. Sure but its nice figuring out main contributor to specific sounds. Inspiring DIY people to change flavors to their prefs. I dont like the buy or die mindset. I just managed after lot of time & money to get my components to copy the vox ...

Joe Roberts continues do not do audio and coniine dedicate himself to archeology. http://www.tnt-audio.com/shows/munich10a_e.htmlDuring his last waist of Munich, when he was digging out the meaning of the word “Reinheitsgebot” and helpe to his Korean...

Charlus,As you expressed here this would be an End of life speaker project, and I am sure you will not fancy any other speaker once you start with this, even Vox Olympian etc. Yes it will take a lot of money and a lot of time, but you will have fun...

Sudwestfunkorchester, Baden-Baden/Jascha Horenstein; Vox, STPL 510-700 (stereo; recorded in Germany)I think that Beethoven's 3rd Symphony is another case of great music that is so universally appreciated that it becomes ubiquitous, and then we begin ...

The demonstration of the WE equipment was impressive as was looking closely at how these horns were constructed. The arrangement (originally it would have been mono) was to provide the audience seated both in the stalls or circle with an evenly bala...

What I like: The fact that they are doing this. The upper part of these speakers is truly beautiful, both in composition and in workmanship, which is on the level of fine jewelry. Sonic attributes aside, visually that Pinocchio tweeter horn i...

Charlus, I would like to expend on the subject that I mentioned before. When you feel that let say Living Voice Vox Olympian and Audio Tekne sounded extremely good you need to find evidence that it was become what you believe it was. if you feel that...

hi Romy. Agree, didnt talk too much to him but you can feel having bit of empathy that hes a very warm hearted, relaxed and polite decent personality. Looks like a righteous guy. Also wish him best. Why im still writing this here? I dont think theres...
And far ahead of the

an attempt to methodologically debug your thought proses. You found that ESD is
Murat, this latest information from you has gotten you farther along than you might suppose at this time. From what you now say, it sounds like 6 months would be a minimum amount of time for you to spend getting a sense of the S...

I am not "working backwards" from a tweeter. I presently use Harbeth M40.1s, but having recently heard the Living Voice Vox Olympian and an Audio Tekne horn implementation of Ale Acoustics drivers, the experiences opened up new vistas of what is poss...

Too hot to expect the best sound today, and besides I have gotten my morbid curiousity worked up about the recording/playback curves, so I fished out a few LPs mostly to hear/see how they sound with respect to the "shape" of their sound, aspects of w...

Romy,Thank you. Now that you mention it, perhaps 85% of the stateroom in question was indeed beneath the waterline, meaning that the potential for unruly resonances was perhaps less than I had at first assumed. The front and rear walls of the room we...
Do not worry, you won’t be happy with your new speakers
as well. It is a little dirty secret that no one told you yet: speakers do not
give happiness.
In my case only speakers can give me happiness, because with e...
